HYLTON
KANSAS RACE
RECAP |
 |
Kansas
City,
Kansas
(July
1,
2006)
-
Stock
car
legend
James
Hylton
raced
to
a
23rd
place
finish
at
the
Kansas
Lottery
200
Grand
ARCA
RE/MAX
series
race,
overcoming
both
heat
and
an
impressive
pack
of
young
talent.
"Kansas
is
my
favorite
race
track,
the
turn
layouts
are
perfect"
states
Hylton
"we
had
gotten
off
to
a
real
rocky
start
and
had
to
play
dodge
cars
with
a
accident
or
two
along
the
way
early
in
the
race".
Two
weeks
ago
at
The
Milwaukee
Mile,
Hylton
become
the
oldest
driver
to
compete
in
the
NASCAR
Busch
series.
The
1.5
mile
Kansas
Speedway
began
hosting
the
ARCA
RE/MAX
series
in
2001
and
Hylton
Motorsports
has
been
there
for
each
event,
with
James
driving
in
the
last
four.
"The
car
got
better
as
the
race
went
on"
said
Hylton
"we
had
good
pit
stops
and
all
together
a
pretty
good
day".
Crew
Chief
Andy
Kilpatrick
was
elated
with
the
finish
stating
"without
a
sponsor,
it
is
tough
to
even
make
the
fields
this
year
in
the
ARCA
RE/MAX
series
let
alone
finish
in
the
top
25".
