MILWAUKEE  AT&T 250 RACE REPORT & PIX

James Hylton returned to NASCAR for the first time since 1993 at the AT&T 250 this weekend at the Milwaukee Mile.  The appearance also was Hylton's first Busch Series race since 1982's Coca Cola 200 at Rockingham Speedway.  James drove a Chevrolet Monte Carlo owned by Jay Robinson Racing at the historic mile oval.

Even though James finished 41st, he still was thrilled at the opportunity provided by Jay Robinson and his crew.  The FX broadcast crew was especially found of James and remarked that he was in amazing shape to be able to handle a race car at age 71.

James Hylton has raced in both USAC and ARCA competition at the speedway but this was his first NASCAR sanctioned event.  Hylton stated "everyone from NASCAR was great this weekend, a few even told me to not to wait 25 years for my next appearance".  This also marked a reunion with Hylton's former NASCAR Craftsman Truck Driver, Derricke Cope.  Cope, the 1990 Daytona 500 winner, drove the number 49 Advil Ford Fusion in the race.  However, brake problems forced Cope to drop out on lap 204, resulting in a 34th place finish for the veteran driver.
